Step 1
Run RTMPMiniServer and press Start
Step 2
Go to this site https://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/
and type your address and port.
In my case it’s mg926.rtmpminiserver.com and 1935
And press Check.
If you have closed port or RTMPMiniServer stopped then you got fail:
We add “Buffer” to smooth out the situation. Buffer is place where frames will be ordering before go to NDI output.
Start delay – how many frames should be waited before start NDI output.
If you setup it to 1000ms then it means 25 frames for 25fps or 30 frames for 30fps.
Max. delay – how many frames allows be in buffer. You can setup to 2000ms. So it means buffer can accommodate 50 frames for 25 fps stream.
If 51 frames will be arrive at moment (because network may be “jump”) then frame number 51 will be dropped.
Common recommendation: for unstable network use Start Buffer at least 1000ms and use Max.Buffer as “Start + 2000ms” (at least).
User uses VidiU encoder and RTMPMiniServer located on Office A. All works fine through Internet.
User move RTMPMiniServer to other Office B(other public IP) and do setup.
Do check (as wrote here ) – all is fine.
BUT VidiU encoder can’t connect to RTMPMiniServer.
Why ?….
If shortly: it seems few models VidiU does not correct work with dynamic dns.
If you have mobile studio (PC with RTMPMiniServer changes public IP) and you use encoders from Teradek then my recommendation is use IP-based address instead “rtmpminiserver.com”-based.
For example:
I can use “rtmp://mg926.rtmpminiserrver.com:1935/live” but for VidiU
very recommended use “rtmp://95.165.165.50:1935/live”. Of course after change public IP you need enter new ip-based url to VidiU.
In most cases I can use dynamic DNS-address mg926.rtmpminiserrver.com
This address always linked to my current(!) public IP.
For example in office it will be linked to IP-1 , in home it will be linked to IP-2.
What is problem with VidiU?
VidiU remembers first linked IP and does not re-read new info. So it always thinks “mg926.rtmpminiserver.com linked to IP-1”.
NOTE: of course I reported about it to Teradek
I typed “windows 10 spikes wifi” to Google and it shows many pages about the issue. Many users reported about ping spikes like this:
How to check your Wifi for this issue? Just open Command Prompt and run:
ping www.google.com -t
If you see periodically unstable timeouts like image above then your WiFi not good for streaming.
How to fix it? Main ideas for fix it: disabling Windows Updates uploading to other PC, or disabling One Drive.
You can read this reports for more details:

I did this steps for fix it on my PC:
2. Check updates and install it.
3. Move to “Delivery Optimisation” and disable “Allow downloads from other PCs”.
4. Restart Windows.
I repeat my test and got perfect result without spikes:
